On Friday, September 7th the announcement was made that the Chickasha, OK facility would be shut down by April of 2008. The announcement was met with stunned silence. This facility has been a major employer in Chickasha for 35 years. Over the past 3 years there have been 2 other reduction in force layoffs. Even with that past history, this decision came as a bit of a shock. The good news for the employees is that they do have time to develop a plan and look for other employment before the plant closes.
I personally have worked for this company for 24 years. I will miss the many people I have had the incrediable pleasure to work with during this time.

Dan, I hope this finds you well. I am trying to find information about when the Chickasha plant opened under the Meritor name. Would you happen to know the year the facility was purchased by Meritor?
